Independence Football Defeats Clear Creek-Amana

Tiffin, Iowa – In last Friday’s game, Independence defeated Clear Creek-Amana 28-14.  In the first quarter of the night, Marcus Beatty ran for 15 yard for the first touchdown for the first score of the game. The point kick by Sawyer Wendling was good. The Clippers scored their first touchdown by Gage Freeman on a 1 yard run. The point kick by Grant Kruse was good. By the end of the first quarter the score was 7-7. In the second quarter, Mitch Johnson made a perfect pass to Jake Sidles for 6 yards for the second touchdown of the night for the Mustangs. The point kick by Sawyer Wending was once again good. Later in the 2nd, Mitch Johnson again with a pass but, this time to Keegan Schmitt for a pass of 12 yards for the touchdown for Independence, the kick by Wendling was good. By the end of the second quarter the score was Independence 21, the Clear Creek-Amana 7. During the 2nd half, Marcus Beatty ran for 16 yards for another Mustang touchdown. The PAT point by Sawyer Wendling was good. The Clippers did strike one more time as Ben Swalls rans for a 9 yards touchdown for the Clippers. The pont kick by Grant Korse was good. The final score was Independence 28, Clear Creek-Amana 14.
